The ballet music for "Sleeping Beauty" is one of the most valuable and wonderful things that Peter Tchaikovsky wrote for a large orchestra. The wonderful melodies, the drama and the richness of color of the music have inspired piano arrangers time and again. For example, Mikhail Pletnev or Theodor Kirchner (world premiere recording!). And last but not least, Lev Vinocour himself contributes the stirring apotheosis on this Hybrid Super Audio CD, which he wrote based on Franz Liszt's short piece "Vive Henri IV".
