One of the best recordings of the "Symphonie Fantastique". Cluytens's representative recording is even more attractive with new mastering!

"Fantasy Symphony" of former EMI master record which is the second studio recording for Cluytens. It is a masterpiece that can be said to be the definitive board that forms a double wall with the Munch board. A graceful yet powerful performance in the right place captivates the listener. Precious "La Vals" recorded simultaneously was also recorded. For this reprint, mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer separately, using a master digitized at 96kHz / 24bit from the master in the home country. It is a permanent storage board. Cluytens recorded the "Fantastic Symphony" in 1955 with the French National Radio and recorded in monaural, but only three years later the stereo was recorded with the Philharmonia tube. Only "Fantastic Symphony" was produced by Walter Leg. Although making music that is graceful but never breaks down is regarded as a special feature of Cluytens, the details of the recordings that have been reproduced so far have been somewhat vague, so it is underestimated only on the surface side There are also tendencies. In this reprint, the true form has finally emerged as the resolution has increased and the range and dynamics have expanded. You can check the clarity and the intention of the creator, which is why it is not a French orchestra. Coupling was recorded at the same time as "La Vals". This is a valuable sound source that has a different brilliance, recorded before the famous sound source that was recorded with the Paris Conservatory later in the year. The accuracy of the orchestra is clearly higher here, and since it has neatness and precision that is not in the sound of France, recording this single song is spared. In the CD era, this combination was released in the early days, but since then it has hardly been reproduced. And the overture "Carnival in Rome" with the French National Radio was also recorded. Although this is an extra, this is a great performance where you can feel the beautiful expression and the rhythm of cruitance. In this reprint, I think you can enjoy the difference in the sound at different times and places. In addition, detailed commentary by Hiroshi Aiba is newly recorded. The background and detailed analysis of the record are interesting to read. In this series, the SACD layer allows you to enjoy a high resolution and rich sound field with a stretched high range and soft nuances, and the CD layer allows you to enjoy a real tone that is pushed out together with a solid sound.
