Artist: Friedhelm Flamme The organist Friedhelm Flamme has already shown with two brilliant and critically acclaimed SACDs with works by Duruflé and Dupré how real technique and virtuosity paired with spiritual penetration can lead to sensational results. Add to that perfect sound direction and audiophile bliss is perfect. Thus, just last week, the reviewer of an American audio magazine wrote of the Dupré: "I thought I was listening to an organ CD in my room, but I was hearing an organ..." After these two excursions into French organ modernism, we have now planned a large-scale SACD edition with Flamme featuring complete recordings of the great organ masters of the North German Baroque on period instruments (of the North German region, of course). Since we are also making the rooms of the historic churches an integral part of the overall sound in the surround recordings, we are embarking here on nothing less than an acoustic journey through time. Our Vol 1 is dedicated to the respective surviving organ works of Nicolaus Bruhns (1665-1697) from Husum and Georg Leyding from Braunschweig. Flamme plays the Christian Vater organ (1724) in Melle.
