The history of Virgin Prunes begins with the Dublin party Lypton Village, which, in the mid-70s, included teenagers inspired by the punk revolution, now known under the pseudonyms Gavin Friday, Guggi, Pod (Virgin Prunes), Bono, The Edge (U2). Two groups emerged from Lipton Village - U2 and Virgin Prunes, the first chose the path of commercial success and achieved recognition in the widest circles, while the expressive means of Virgin Prunes were unacceptable to the mass listener.
