A set of recordings left behind by famous Soviet musicians and recordings by Western musicians who visited the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory during the "thaw" brought about by Khrushchev after Stalin's death.  Soviet musicians appearing include Sofronitsky, Goldenweiser, Ginzburg, Oistrakh, Barshai, Feinberg, Oborin, Richter, Borodin Quartet, Kogan, Gilels, Rostropovich, Druzhinin and others.  Western players include Stern, Menuhin, Fournier, Stokowski, Cluytens, Ormandy, Robert Shaw, Fisturari, Boult, Sargent and others
