Adiemus is a musical project of the Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, which gained world fame in the mid-1990-ies. The lyrics of the songs have no translation. Jenkins used syllables and words that were selected solely by their sound so that the voice of the performer was perceived as a musical instrument. Music combines elements of classics, ethnic meadows and New Age style (reaming from the sound of Enigma or Enya). The first and most famous album of the project, "Songs of Sanctuary", was released in 1995 and sold millions of copies around the world.
