A series of compilations put out originally by Compost Records. The first four volumes list the series as The Future Sound Of Jazz. The article "The" was skipped for subsequent volumes and "Sound" became "Sounds".
The series was picked up in the U.S. by Instinct Records starting from Vol.2 up to Vol.4. Since they didn't release the first volume on Compost Records, they re-numbered their releases. The original Vol.2 on Compost Records became Vol.1 on Instinct Records and so on. Their series can be found under The Future Sound Of Jazz.
