On August 27, 1955, Sandra Cristina Frederico de Sá, our Sandra de Sá, was born in Pilares, a suburb of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Her neighborhood of origin is also the cradle of the most critical of our Samba Schools, the "Caprichosos de Pilares", which must have helped to form the exuberant personality of Sandra.
