Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival is one of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world. It was held for the fifth time in 2009 and was participated by more than 1,000 artists involved in 200 programs and attracted more than 80,000 visitors during its three-day stretch (March 6, 7, 8). When the voices of New York Voices’ four personnel began filling up the space of Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2009, accompanied by Ron King Big Band, we immediately realized why people enjoy jazz through its most appropriate format, vocal group featuring big band. Although the meeting of the minds (between New York Voices and Ron King Big Band) only occurred two days prior to their performance, their collaboration felt like it was based on eternity. Chuck Loeb was also featured in this delectable performance.
