SSince its founding, the Calmus Ensemble, which has existed since 1999, has developed into one of the most renowned vocal ensembles in Germany, whose name now has an excellent reputation worldwide. Homogeneity, precision, lightness, emotionality and wit: This is what characterizes the Calmus Ensemble and makes the quintet one of the most successful vocal groups in Germany. The wide range of tones, the singers' passionate joy in making music, their sound culture and their varied and imaginative program compositions never fail to inspire. Founding members such as Ludwig Böhme and Sebastian Krause have now left the ensemble and turned to other musical tasks, but the new line-up, which developed in the years 2020 to 2022, ensures continuity in terms of high quality standards and proven repertoire. After the first successful concerts of the new formation consisting of Elisabeth Mücksch (soprano), Maria Kalmbach (alto), Friedrich Bracks (tenor), Jonathan Saretz (baritone) and Michael B. Gernert (bass), they immediately decided to take part in several new recording projects Go to studio. One of them is the present album Christmas Lights on BAYER RECORDS. This new program offers a successful mix of well-known and lesser-known Christmas songs. In keeping with tradition, former ensemble member Ludwig Böhme once again contributed an arrangement of various melodies from a Christmas classic. You can also look forward to two Christmas pop songs by Jamie Cullum and Coldplay. In addition to all the new arrangements, there is still a lot to discover for fans of contemplative and traditional Christmas music.
