This box is a musical treat for all jazz fans, as no less than 20 original albums by the Modern Jazz Quartet are released here on ten CDs.
Founded in 1952, the group made a name for itself with its unique combination of cool jazz and European chamber music. This attracted many people, especially in Europe, to the concert halls who had not previously listened to jazz. For decades, the band was able to celebrate great successes during their worldwide guest appearances. In the 1960s the quartet came together only sporadically, otherwise the members devoted themselves to other projects
1974 broke up, but reunited from 1981 and continued to tour the world. The last recording was released in 1993.
